CONTENT WARNINGS
This story is pretty grim and at this point is long, so it's best you know what you'll be in for eventually - so here are all the major content warnings:
- death
| murder | prejudice | violence | some pictured blood |some use of bad language. It eventually deals with a fairly-large conflict in Henford.
-
Sexual intercourse happens in this story, but it is vaguely-described and the act itself is not pictured or discussed in any great detail. There is some mild nudity, but nothing private is shown.
- One character's plot deals with terminal illness, and another character loses a baby at some point later on in the story.
- One of the vampires was turned against her will. Whilst the incident itself is not sexual and it is not meant to be allegorical to sexual assault, the non-consensual nature of it is worth warning about.
- Instances of transphobia, ableism and homophobia in Act Two.
- Deals with two different religious factions, the Jacobans and Peterans from The Sims Medieval. Scrupulosity, disagreements between faith groups and exploration of living alongside one's faith come up.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This may seem unecessary to some of you, but I know what people are like concerning potentially 'problematic' stories so this is your warning before you start reading.
- Things are mostly morally-grey amongst the main cast. You will not agree with everyone's morals.
- The attitudes in
the story and the plot of the story are not an entire reflection of the author's
morals.
- This is fantasy. Whilst inspired by the real-world, it is not a 1-to-1 with it.
- You may not always agree with other readers' interpretations or takes.
- People who have done terrible things get redeemed. Not every
character's bad deeds get an explanation as to why they are bad. Not
everyone gets called out on everything they do. The story is also not a complete one-to-one with modern Leftist ideals, nor
is it a centrist utopia.
- There will be elements of the story that may
make you annoyed or upset because they do not slot in with your beliefs - or mine -
of how things should be or how they should be dealt with. It is a snapshot of a fictional world's
history. Bear in mind historical context in terms of language and attitude for certain things.
- Due to historical CC's focus on European and US cultures, there will be a lot of things inaccurate to certain cultures or certain cultures at certain points of history, and there is no singular time period for this story to adhere to.
